White water
Description:

The beginning of the Whitewater season.
A return to the annual Pyranhafest weekend. A weekend of Grade 3 – 4 Whitewater paddling,
Based on the Tryweryn River, 2km of natural rocky downhill Whitewater River,
dam released so guaranteeing good water levels.
Paddle by day, maybe take part in a coaching course to improve your skills and then party by night,
Kayak videos, hog roast, music, beer etc, The town of Bala is taken over by Kayakers for this very
special weekend.  We’ll probably stay in a bunk house, in case the weather turns bad !
For those of you who are less confident / experienced we’re considering some of us going up on
Thursday evening and then on Friday paddling grade 2- 3 to build up your skills prior to hitting the
bigger stuff on the weekend. How about booking the Friday off work NOW and making this a really
worthwhile three days of paddling, building up as you go !
Whether we do this extra day will depend on numbers /  water levels.
