August, and with no whitewater in the rivers, a contingent of us visited the new Lee Valley Whitewater Course and spent the afternoon on the heaving whitewaters.!
Most of the eleven members gained their accreditation for the legacy course and particular mention of Jay, Darren and Gary who also did so for the Olympic course.
Jo only came along to take loads of photos, but in the event did a couple of super runs down the legacy course in the Duo, courtesy of Gary and Darren respectively, she did extremely well, paddling / leaning/ bracing as told and even when both Darren and Gary succeeded in dunking her in the frothy stuff, she just hung on in there, determined not to abandon ship for what seemed like hours.
There was a very bemused look on Jo’s face when she was eventually rolled up from her first dunking, to find that she was still in the boat but Captain Darren was swimming around it.
Congratulations to all those who managed to pass their assessment for the Legacy Course and a fantastic time was had by all.
