The Bad News :

I regret to advise that there was a break in at the Rugby Club Container last night, the doors were forced open

and only three boats now remain in the store.

The Good News :

is that due to the Dartmoor trip all of our main fleet of boats, paddles and bouyancy aids had been removed and been placed back in the

Pool Store upon our return. Ironically a few boats, all the bouyancy aids and brand new helmets SHOULD have been dropped

back to the container on Sunday evening but as we were tired we left them at the Pool and Gary had agreed to perform the task after

the pool session this Wednesday ! Thank you for insisting upon that Gary !

SO, I dont think we've lost anything, Gary is going to visit the store this evening to check,

He will then fit the strongest padlock we can find to the main lock AS WELL as seperate padlocks to the two door locking arms.

Ironicially, Chas and I were having a conversation at the weekend regarding insurance cover and specifically whether items such as paddles,

spray decks, bouyancy aids etc should be insured. Currently only our five creek boats and the Top Duo are insured !

Perhaps now that we have brand new soft kit / paddles we need to consider that ?.

We were also discussing the need for greater security of the kit stored in the Pool Store !

I'll let you know how things pan out tonight and will also obtain some quotes from insurers for our newer kit.

Finally, following another discussion at the weekend, once we'd finished carping about lack of water etc.,

Chas has kindly fitted some hooks on the ceiling beam in the pool store,

so that we can hang up the spray decks, to dry them out and keep them in better shape.

We are also hoping to source another wheelie bin in which to store the paddles and be able to wheel them around to the pool entrance.
