I love cars, don't you? Apparently everyone does, as tonight there seem to be rather a lot of them on the road, getting in the way. Don't they know we're trying to get to Wales before tomorrow?
Day 1
The day started with the hostel owner shouting for someone to stop their phone from ringing, as it was waking the entire house. Unfortunately, it was her landline but apparently she hadn’t noticed that minor detail. After the usual health food breakfast we converged upon the Tryweryn.
So, here it is again. I'm sitting in an eddy at the top of some water feature (I’ve been informed this particular one is called the ski-jump or something along those lines). Apparently I have to hit it on the right near the middle, or the left near the edge, or somewhere, or not at all. Then just reach over and power through... I think. Supposedly I'll be fine if I do that. The guy in front has just dropped out of sight. There’s no screaming so that’s probably good.
My turn comes.I realise now that I should-been paying attention to what the coach was saying earlier. Now where’s that line he was talking about? And… oh… I made it… Looking back, that wasn’t so bad… what do you mean there are bigger drops?!
Day 2
The second day on the water saw another two good runs down the upper section and further improvement from those of us who hadn’t been to the Tryweryn on a previous occasion. We wrapped up the day playing (or attempting to in my case) on the NRA wave before hopping out and packing up.
In the end, we managed to arrive back in Surrey some time around Wednesday.
I love cars…
